Suggested bio for media use:

Alex Staniforth is a record-breaking adventurer, ultra-runner, international keynote speaker and charity founder from Chester, who is no stranger to overcoming challenges.

As a teenager he survived the two most significant disasters in Mount Everest history, including the 2015 Nepal earthquake. Yet his greatest mountains have been closer to home: living with epilepsy, mental ill health, a stammer, and bullying since childhood.

In 2025 he became the fastest person to run and cycle between all 446 mountains in England and Wales within just 45 days. His endurance feats have raised over £150,000 for charity, earning him a Pride of Britain award and an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Chester in 2025 for his contribution to mental health, aged 29.

Now based in Kendal, he is also the author of Icefall and Another Peak and founder of the mental health charity, Mind Over Mountains.
