Running has long been a passion and key part of my daily life. Whilst racing between 5km to half marathon and running the distance alone in training, I had never wanted to enter an official marathon until I could properly commit to training and break the sub-3:00 barrier – a major benchmark for many marathoners. My first marathon was the Greater Manchester Marathon in April 2018 where I ran 2:58:46.
Having caught the bug I quickly signed up to Chester Marathon where I ran my PB of 2:54:39 before getting injured and my competitive running goals would take on a different trajectory for a while…
