Inspired by the Pride of Britain awards, I made a spontaneous November attempt to cycle 310 miles from home in Chester to Edinburgh in 24 hours. I didn’t make the time limit… but kept going anyway to arrive in 31 hours total at Edinburgh Central Youth Hostel by 10pm.
