One of the first challenges in July 2014 I took on whilst training for Everest 2015 was the classic ‘Welsh 3000’s’ which involves climbing all 14 (technically 15) of the peaks in Wales over 3,000ft high, within a 24-hour period without using transport.
When going south to north, the peaks include:
- Snowdon 1085m
- Garnedd Ugain 1066m
- Crib Goch 923m
- Elidir Fawr 924m
- Y Garn 947m
- Glyder Fawr 999m
- Glyder Fach 994m
- Tryfan 915m
- Pen Yr Ole Wen 978m
- Carnedd Dafydd 1044m
- Carnedd Llewelyn 1064m
- Foel Grach 974m
- Gwenllian (formerly Garnedd Uchaf*) 976m
- Foel Fras 942m
It can be walked or ran, and I opted to walk solo (with periods of running to speed things up). Have a read of my account here:
